2nd Annual RBC Octoberfest

This weekend we headed up to Jeffersonville, VT for the 2nd annual Rochester Boston Club (RBC) Octoberfest. My mom has been having this party for the past 6 yrs or so- and we FINALLY get to attend now that we're living back in MA. Jeffersonville is the small town where Smuggler's Notch Ski Resort is located. And Smuggler's Notch is on the other side of Stowe (Mt. Mansfield). Here's a recap of last year's trip. Unfortunately Lauren and Henry could not make the trip (they were too busy on vacation in Aruba!) so it was me, hubs, Rocco, Jenny, Neal and their Boston Terrier Mikey.

Friday night we stopped by the Smuggler's Notch Tavern to watch the Red Sox win the series (sorry Angels fans). Saturday was Sneakers for Breakfast and when the forecast called for rain all day, we called for playin' card games in the cabin all day. Sunday was the actual party and Monday was driving back to MA on the highway with the rest of New England.

You can't go to VT without grabbin' breakfast at Sneakers in Winooski (near UVM). Sorry the pics were a lil blurry. Hangovers and Picture-Phone-taking don't mix too well.Crabcakes Egg Benedict
Eggs & Homefries. I'm boring. I know.

Yummy.

I was a bad blogger for not taking too many pics of the actual event. I'll update this when my mom sends me over her pictures. The food was amazing and Champagne Punch could be the best concoction ever!
Gotta love Wild Turkey.
More pics and youtubes to come soon!

Jules, I was way too busy to take pictures and then I was way too drunk on the champagne/rielsing punch that we socked down. someday I will get to really enjoy our party. Paul said we had 44 people there. It didn't seem like that many did it? There were alot more people that I expected that didn't make it...What if they all did come... I am just happy you all made it up and Rocco didn't eat great balls of aluminum foil or anything toxic...That pic was the toast to Neal and Jenny with my ridiculously old style champagne glasses. I hope Henry and Lauren had a good time and can come up sometime...

i am jealous times a million. My mother lives in Colchester. I know exactly where Sneakers is (though i've never been it opened around the time i left for college and never went back) I miss Vermont :( Though boyfriend and I will be in CT this weekend.

ALSO! My grandparents have a camp in Johnson which is on the OPPOSITE side of Smuggs. Gah. So sad. I miss autumn :( Were the leaves pretty??? Was the beer good? The oktoberfest we went to ran out of Woodchuck cider. the audacity :(

Mmmm....crab cakes eggs benedict. I'd have been ordering that for show.

I'm intrigued. What comes in champagne punch?

I emailed my mom about the champagne punch and this is what she said:

It is champagne, Riesling wine and sugar. I got the recipe from the New York Times cookbook so I will look it up on-line for the actual measurements. I obviously did not measure the other night!!! Just poured it in...
