Today is Blog Action Day!

Happy Blog Action Day! Today about 15,000 blogs (including JQ) have signed up to publish a post that relates to an issue of their own choice pertaining to the environment. Hmmm so sticking to the deep topics the JQ Lounge usually explores- I'd like to dedicate this blog to fabulous celebs who are passionate about improving our environment.

Julia Roberts: This past weekend, American Cinematheque paid tribute to her contribution to film in a black-tie ceremony at the Beverly Hilton. Yeah yeah we all know J-Ro lights up any movie with her big smile and feisty sense of humor, but what few know is that she's also very environmentally conscience. A Spokesperson for BioFuels, the Pretty Woman recently renovated her house and installed solar panels and eco-friendly supplies (example: wood from sustainably managed forests and recycled tiles). Nice!

And apparently US Weekly beat me to this (I realized this while googling my "research") They mention Hollywood's Biggest Conservation Crusaders: the obvious ones including Brad Pitt, Leo, Cameron. Click here for more

Now some Linky Love:
Ecorazzi.com always mentions the latest green gossip among celebrities.
And for eco-savvy advice for the modern green woman, check out Conserving Made Chic!

And Last But Not Least.
Pink Magazine's 20 ways to Do YOUR Part and make some changes to make this place a little better.
Some of the ones I am going to try and start to follow:
  • Replace old light bulbs at home with compact florescent bulbs.
  • Unplug unused appliances and electronic devices. (this includes Phone Chargers!!)
  • Drive less; carpool, ride your bike or take public transportation.
  • Lower the thermostat by two degrees when it's cold outside – and raise it two degrees in summer.
