Wish I could rock a Bob

I saw this picture of Shanna Moakler on ShopStyle.com & right away started thinking I should break out the scissors and snip away to get this look. Unfortch, my hair is way too thick to pull this off (and I'm a lazy bum when it comes to blowdrying it with a round brush).
My short haired fascination started way back in the 90's when Valerie Malone showed up on 90210 as the Walsh's bad girl cousin.

Then there was Rachel Leigh Cook in the Baby Sitters Club (omg i was OBSESSED with those books!!!) I'd probably read them now if they were in front of me.

Katie Holmes- her hair looks SO CUTE and totally polishes her look!Jennifer Anistons hair looks perfect any length any style.. but she rocked the shortness for a brief period of time.Did I ever mention my past semi obsession with Catherine Zeta Jones? Sure she's an egotistical snob in pretty much all of her interviews, but she's just the prettiest vision ever! I actually got bangs right after I saw her in The Terminal (but once again I was too afraid to cut the hair short)

BUT something tells me it'd probably take me longer to blow dry a short hair do because I'd actually have to use a round brush so my hair doesn't flip out..

would you rock a bob?

I'd love to rock a bob, but I know it wouldn't look right on me.

Your hair does look like CZJ's here!

Thanks for the photos - I'm chopping all my hair off on Saturday. I will likely go for a bob!

My favorite bob was Drew Barrymore in The Wedding Singer. I got my hair cut off because of her in that movie.

Wow, Shanna does look good!
I absolutely refuse to use a round brush too...my hairdresser yells at me all the time, but I just can't be bothered.
I loveee Catherine Zeta Jones too...beautiful! (you DO look a bit like her!)

I have done the bob many a time, but I don't think it looks good on me. I look so young as it is and my hair is also thick so I ended up wearing it half up half down to minimize the poof. I TOTALLY wanted Valerie hair in middle school. I loved it.

i've had like 285038 clients ask me for the katie holmes/posh spice bob, when in reality only about 2 of them could pull it off.

you have to not have a lot of hair and also have your hair be either really straight or you be super willing to style it.

but i agree w/ you. they do look cute...although not as low-maintenence as people would think.

i used to have one, and it was such a pain. no ponytails, no wash and wear, and i had about 29939 tons too much hair for it so it always looked like a big poofball.

umm i don't think i could rock the bob, unless you count my hair cut now as a curly bob, haha. i'm not quite sure.

and ummm i looooved the babysitter's club :)

My latest big chop was to a longish bob: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nannersp/2072284539/

I'm thinking about growing it out now, though, for a different change.

My hair is way too thin for a bob, it just sits there flat, bobs look best I think when they are full and fat. But I agree, you need to dedicate time to it.

I always wish for "bob" hair. Mine is too thick, and not straight enough, sadly.

i cannot rock a bob for several reasons..... one, i have way too much hair. it'd look like a broom. you have to have pretty thin hair to make it look sleek and lay flat. and my hair is wavy so it'd be mayjuh maintenance every day. and i have a long jawline and it's not the most flattering look for my face (my opinion). wish i could though because all those ladies look adorable.

Oh how I wish I could rock a bob or some other bob-ish type 'do. I can't though. So as you've seen I've improvised and still gone short-ish. Maybe you should try something close to the 'do you covet?

I've often thought about cutting my hair that short, but I just know I wouldn't take the time necessary to make it look good. And also? no ponytail capabilities? F that.

I took a leap and got my hair cut in an angled bob. It does take just as long to style because I have to use a round brush.

Go for it! I didn't think I could pull it off, but if you have a good stylist who knows what they are doing and what short style would go well with your facial features (and in my case, my longer than average neck), then you'll come out looking good!

The bob is what I rock, actually! I have done it in various ways, but I always return to it because as much as I say I will grow my hair out, I can't do it, and used to be really paranoid about having any mullet-resemblance. ;)
Now I just think the bob really suits me...I actually almost wish I'd gone a bit shorter this past time around...
