Seals & Deals in SF & CHI-TOWN

San Francisco & Chicago. Two cool cities that I have never visited before. I headed out on a 6am flight to SF on a Sunday so I would have a chance to explore the city by myself for a day. Got a billion pics in on the first day, and as told in a previous post, road the cable cars for a good portion of it. I must admit, I'm ashamed of myself for not taking any pics in Chicago except for my awesome hotel room that I thought looked like something out of Alice in Wonderland. Plus I was only in Chicago for a day and a half, I wish I had gotten more time there! But hopefully I will make that trip again soon.

I stayed at The Handlery in Union Square. Great location. Great Room. And the greatest part was the 10 minute walk to the office in such beautiful weather. Union Square is quite the place. Ridiculous shopping, fun restaurants, more shopping. Where I did most of my shopping.. HA. I wish..
Took the Cable Car from Union Sq to Fisherman's Wharf. Fun place! You get a good amount of site seeing here.. Alcatraz , Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39 views, delicious seafood
But my favorite thing about Fisherman's Wharf would most definitely be the SEALS!! SO frickin' cute. All day long they chill out on the docks, pretty much just wrestling each other playing 'king of the dock' and knocking each other in the water. I just wanted to hang out with them all day. They made me miss Rocco!Lombard St! [the crooked road] I was way too tired to walk up this street to check it out. I'm a bum. Hooray for Zoom lens thoughI had Jamba Juice for the first time! I got the Strawberry Nirvana, which ended up being my breakfast every morning in SF! So yum.
I took the BART a few times and was very impressed with its cleanliness. Plus $5.35 to get to the airport instead of taking a cab!? What a bahgain!
And they even have the coolest Pizza shop . Ever. Julia Pizza. That's just awesome. (my real name is Julia)
And finally, after an hour layover in Vegas (I lost $5.00 at the slot machine in my Gate and was disgusted with myself for the entire 2 hr flight to Chi-town) I got to Hotel Monaco. This place was so nice! I totally recommend it. Its on N Wabash Ave next to the water. This was another hotel next to some fabulous shopping (the magnificent mile starts the next block over), but a good way to keep yourself from spending lots of money is to pack all of your stuff in Carry-on, so there is no room for extras!Fun filled trip, but its great to be back on the East Coast!

I'm in love with the walls of your hotel room.

And Jamie...we can't bring a seal home. We have to pay for check bags and I don't think we can fit it into the overhead bin.

Aw, what a fun trip!

And yay for Jamba Juice! The founders went to my college and started the business as their senior project. It's amazing to see how much they've grown!

Mmmm, Jamba Juice. Did you know BU has the only Jamba Juice on the East Coast? Yeah...we're cool.

Also, the seals remind me of the seals I always see in La Jolla near San Diego. So adorable.
