She wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny...

i.wish.

We recently booked a well needed trip to Aruba in March with some friends. Yay for sun! Nay for bathing suit buying. I recently picked up a fabulous black halter one piece on sale for twenty bucks at jcrew.com, but with vacation 2 months away, it comes to the point where i'm sure many of you have been..... Buy an additional 2 piece and attempt Oprah's Bootcamp for the next two months (NOTE: Oprah circa 2006, not the hot mess that she is right now with her addiction to food yet i still loves her) OR....... not.
See, the honeymoon was easy because it was just me and the hubs and the rest were random people I didn't know at the pool. And surprisingly enough, there were much heavier women rocking skimpier bathing suits then mine at the Sandals Royal Bahamian. You go girls! Thanks for making me feel like Giselle! haha rrright.

This year is not the case, as there are two fabulous in-shape friends of mine attending. But I like a challenge and I've been somewhat lame lately about my gym routine, so online shopping here i come. Though I might just have to order a fabulous tank top to go with it, and not touch foot in the water the whole time. Gahhh. And I know what you're thinking.. 'Tankini..duh!' but I have yet to see a cute Tankini, damnit! So far I've ordered this one to try out, which Caroline commented "Either that's the most flattering bathing suit ever, or it'll be a complete nightmare". Review coming soon. [for those of you who don't know, Caroline and I are Gchat BFFs during the work day] And if the Halter Wrap doesn't work out, the regular top is pretty fetch as well.

i'm sure he'll totally let me go with this wall color...

At least the hubs has taken on the new project this weekend of installing a home gym in our quasi-finished basement, but more on that to come... since I think that project is going to be entertaining as hell to watch/chuckle at/document! All i requested was a microphone so I could host pretend spinning classes while listening to Usher's Yeah Yeah Yeah. Plus a bowl of stale tootsie rolls by the door, just like in my current gym!
Do you rock a bikini on vacation and have that fearless attitude?? I could use some of that if there's a plethera of bikini'tude you could offer.

This is the first year that I'll actually be trying to get into bikini shape. Maybe then I'll actually go to the beaches near my house??

I luckily have no plans to get to the beach until it is actually summer. Glad you get the chance to get away!

I like the tankini but agree that it could be a disaster as much as it could be fabulous- can't wait to see the verdict.

And, can't wait to see what your new gym looks like!

Meg- I totally recommend Sandals. I've been to another pretty nice 'all inclusive' since our honeymoon and you could really tell that Sandals is on top of its game. Also- if you book- go for a basic room- and they will contact you sometime before your trip with a very discounted-if not free- upgrade to an oceanview room! Email me at jqlounge at gmail dot come if you have any more questions!!

LOVE that bikini top but i agree, it has the potential to cut in all the wrong places. keep us updated because that may be my top of choice for summer '09.

hmmm yeah uncertain about the bikini. i bought my first one piece last year - from alloy. i know. i'm not 12 anymore but it was a one piece bathing suit with the sides cut out. gah i forget what i'm talking about - personally i like this one that julia allison sported - http://gawker.com/5007045/julia-allison-in-las-vegas even if it is one piece. it's hot. in that 40's pin up gal kind of way ;)

Okay, Tankini's, WTF?? They expose all the very areas I'm trying to hide, namely lower stomach and inner thighs. Top stomach is never fat so I don't understand the value of a tankini. They piss me off. Sorry, but needed to rant.

I would lose the weight or just not wear a bathing suit at all at this point. I'm bikini all the way.

The last time I wore a bikini was on my honeymoon...in Aruba! :) I can't give you any bikini-tude because I totally judge people who wear them and shouldn't. I don't got it, so I don't flaunt it. ;)

Amount of time checking out how people around you look on the beach: 10%

Amount of time worrying how you look in your bikini: 90%

Getting a tan on your stomach that will actually have a slimming effect every time you wear it in the future: PRICELESS!

Go for personal satisfaction over pleasing others any day! (Oh, and have an amazing trip)
