I tried to pretend like I didn't feel like ass, and was able to still enjoy some of it.
Friday- went to a hotel bar in the 'burbs. This place feels like you are in Mexico at a resort, which is why it is fabulous. Granted you'll find a little Eurotrash here and there, but still a fun time.
Saturday- a hair appointment with my favorite stylist, Laurel. Everytime I have a hair appt coming up, I email my friend Ali and discuss what I should do. Highlights or Darkness? Bangs or let them grow out. This week I told her I wanted to chop it off. I then got the reply 'you say that EVERY time'. I do. And I've even written infamous posts about cutting off all my hair, such as this one (which still gets mentioned in a GOOGLE once a day).
I got highlights too, but I won't go into how many grey hairs Laurel found and claimed she colored with the blondness. That's a whole 'notha post.
The rest of the afternoon we hit up a cookout at GL's casa. I think I saw about 10 funnels done (surprisingly not be me or the hubs!) Unfortunately I had to bail early, because my Sinuses were all 'Enough Julie. get your ass to bed' but I do remember there was some serious Grilling going on right before I left.
Sunday- After many mixed reviews on all ends of the spectrum (twitter, critics, etc) we went and saw Bruno. Now, going into this, I had all the bad reviews in the back of my head, so I wasn't expecting much. Was it over the top? Yes. Was it funny? Yes. Was it completely fucking awkward at times? Yes. Yes. Yes. Do I think I got my $6.00 worth because we went to an 11:15am showing? Yes.
I say its a toss up if I would recommend seeing it in the theatres as opposed to waiting for it to come out on DVD. I would have seen it anyways, just because I love the way Bruno talks when he gives interviews, and his little dance that he does. I wish the film was more about him at fashion shows, and hosting his Funkyzeit tv show. Because it somewhat turned into a Borat type documentary where he goes to random places and goes for the shock and aw factor.
I'd say the Hangover was much better if you had to choose between the two, but I can't turn my back on my favorite Austrian Celebrity. I definitely cracked up during this movie. I could have done with a little less male junk featured though....
