The Invention of a Single Man's Paper Heart.

Have seen a few good movies and wanted to share.

Paper Heart - SUCH a cute movie! Paper Heart was a documentary following around Charlyne Yi, a comedian who was in Knocked Up, while she asks random couples about a subject she doesn't really believe in.. love. Plus for anyone who has a secret (or not so secret) crush on Michael Cera- you'll heart this flick. Except the whole time I was trying to figure out if they were acting or if they really did fall in love. I'm pretty sure it was acting though? Let me know what you think if you see it.
Worth $.99 = Magic Perfume off the Paper Heart Soundtrack

A Single Man - This is a tough movie. There was a lot of excellent acting, but it was such a stressful story line.. Tom Ford definitely has a talent in film making- I just hope it picks a bubblier piece for his next film! I did enjoy making this movie a Saturday Afternoon Date with Petey Pumpkin. We hit up The Friendly Toast after to have a Siskel & Ebert movie review over a cocktail. I'm glad I didn't have the cocktail beforehand, or else I would have randomly cried throughout.. BTW- Colin Firth was amazing and my new favorite Hollywood Hotty is Matthew Goode.

The Invention of Lying - What an interesting storyline! I could see people going either way on this movie with Ricky Gervais and Jennifer Garner.. I thought it was quirky and entertaining! Also, I loved the random cast: Louis CK, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill and Rob Lowe. Basically from what you learn in the commercial- the movie is set in a world where everyone tells the truth. Its blunt and uncomfortable, but then you just start to crack up everyone someone says something. I'd say its a fun rental.. and about 1.5 thumbs of from me.

I adored the invention of lying. Soo good. I wish I lived in a world like that. Actually, I do. I wish people lived in it with me.

I remember when Paper Heart came out and reading something about how Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera supposedly used to date or something (pre-movie)? I don't know if that's actually true but I did read it in some very reliable magazine like Us Weekly or whatever. Heh.

I loved The Invention of Lying. Such a cute flick. I like the part where he's answering all the questions outside of his apartment building. lol

Not to be Debbie Downer but I thought Paper Heart was SUPER disappointing. First of all, the original story is that they were dating, then they said, no they used to date, pre-movie. Then once the movie came out they said it was all publicity for the film and that they never dated. I don't know what's true. Point being, if it's a documentary, but it's scripted, then what is the point? I don't understand why that's interesting to watch. I liked the music though.

I really want to see Invention of Lying.

Ahhhh, I LOVED "A Single Man." I thought it such a beautifully done movie, with such incredible acting and cinematography and costumes. The whole thing was just so artistic and thought-provoking. And, um, it's Colin Firth. The man can do no wrong in my book. :)
