The Gennylite Baby Shower!

The first reaction L-lo and I had after some screams was 'We have to throw you a baby shower' back in the wintertime when Gennylite told us they were going to have a baby!

Since their families are both out of state, we figured it'd be the perfect event to have the local friends as well as her sisters who came in for the festivities.

We had it on a hot and humid Saturday in July.. and it was girls only!

There were yummy treats to eat.. many cocktails and mocktails.

My mom made an amazing Baked Macaroni & Cheese that was a hit, as well as the Rice & Chicken Salad I made in the last post.L-lo made these amazing chocolate covered pretzel favors! Very impressive.
The game we played was 'The Price is Right'. Me and L-lo picked up a list of 'new mommy necessities' at Target and handed each of the guests a card. Each time we held up an item, the crowd would write down how much they thought the item cost. At the end of the game, the person who's list comes the closest to the receipt receives a fabulous prize! (which they then dedicate to the new mom-to-be!!)

Time to open the presents! The Baby Bjorn couple on the box seemed totally sketchy so we had to get a close up of it. The girls said she didn't look as if she just gave birth to that baby..

Gennylite's son is going to be the best dressed baby in Boston with all the cute outfits we all have been collecting since we found out she was having a boy.

Of course you need to learn your Boston ABC's. I wonder what they have in lieu of 'R'

Last but not least, I can't be a Shower without some delicious cake! We got this at Russo's and it had Strawberries and Whipped Cream in the middle. So awesome.

The happy mom-to-be! One month to go!

The first baby shower out of all our friends was a huge success! When L-lo and I were decorating the house, we got sentimental thinking about all the times we decorated our college apartments for the theme parties we'd have every weekend. And now we're doing it for babies! When did we get so civilized?? :)

Maine. The Sunshine State.

America, I'd like to thank you for the great weekend we had celebrating the 4th of July in Maine. 2 days of relaxing by the lake thanks to the generous invite from Nals & Gennylite.
I'm such a nice Skipper who help refueled the boys who were hard at work floating around in the lake!

Even though I didn't see The Lake House, I picture this as something similar to it...Dogs on a Dock could be my favorite thing (oh yeah, that's me zooming in on these people while on the boat). Creepster.
I was so stoked to grab a picture of the Mallards, but then I was told they were LOONS. Who woulda thunk.
This immediately made me think of Weekend at Bernies!!!
Gorgeous sunset!
I could get used to waking up to this view every morning.
Next time I think we'll just fly up to Maine to visit them.. Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend! And yeah, go visit Maine. Its good times.

Rock Paper Scissors.. shoot!

As part of the magical gift bag I received from the Healthworks Blogger Bash last month, one item was a complimentary makeover from Rock Paper Scissors.. the new hip salon on Newbury Street. Since I'm trying to grow my luscious hair out, Tracey invited me to come in for a shine treatment & blowout.

The location is perfect. For those of you who haven't been to Boston (sorry to hear that, first off) Newbury Street is the place to be. Shopping, good eats, celeb watching, people watching.. its all included on the Rodeo Drive of Beantown. Plus after checking out their website I was shocked (and thrilled) to see how great their prices were..

And I LOVE the decor inside! Its exactly how a salon should be styled. My hair stylist was Mia and she was awesome. One big fear of mine is going to a salon and not clicking with the person doing your hair- I would never want to deal with 1+ hours of awkward silence. Mia was so fun, except I felt terrible when my US Weekly I was reading broke the news that Jake and Vienna had in fact, broken up. Plus it helps when you run into friends who are also getting their hair did too!

After telling her my obsession with Tay's bangs from Rachel Zoe Project- (see below)Mia confided to me that the Hairo Hair Clay is how to achieve this look. So I picked up that as well as the Hairo Styling Creme.

Thank you very much, Mia and Tracey! You made me feel faboolooos and now have a slight addiction to shine treatment. Will definitely be back!

If you want to check out Rock Scissors Paper to get your look glammed up (DO IT!), email me at jqlounge at gmail dot com and I'll send you some fun referral discounts.

Just don't hand me a tambourine..

This past weekend we flew up to Buffalo to an amazing wedding for our friends Lauren & Henry. Now these two were part of our college crew, just 2 of 6 of us that ended up moving to Boston and living minutes away from each other, continuing the fun times every weekend (just not broke in a Basement Campus Apartment). They started off as singles that I swear always had a super secret crush on one another, hanging out with ToughGuy & I, and Gennylite & Nals (names have been altered, duh) = 2 annoyingly cute college sweetheart couples.

Pic from a weekend getaway to VT maybe '06?And then after a great friendship, what do you know.. they started to date! I could not have written a better storybook ending when they got engaged a couple years later right before our big vacation to Aruba!

The wedding day called for scattered T-Storms (a bride's worst fear) but as luck would have it, it was sunny and hot out all day. And in a twist - it poured for 2 minutes during their dinner when everyone was already inside eating.. and it was dry about 10 minutes after that!

ToughGuy and I got to walk down the aisle as Bridesmaid and Groomsman :) Yep you can finally see that he is exactly 1 foot taller than me!

When you sit at a table with us fine RITers who haven't seen each other in awhile.. we make sure you toast at least 10 times before dinner. I'm not kidding.

I can't believe Nals & Gennylite are going to have a baby in 1.5 months!! So excited!

The bride picked out the fiercest bridesmaid dresses and hot pink shoes to match. The perfect compliment to her classic gorgeous wedding dress!
L&H had an amazing photographer, Megan Dailor, who already posted a sneak peak of pictures on her blog! If you are planning a wedding in Upstate New York, definitely check her out.

A couple of favorites featured on her blog..

How cute are they?! There is nothing more classic then a handsome guy in a tux kissing his beautiful happy bride's hand. Oh man!

Their venue was at the Park Country Club.

I think everyone should have a picture of them and their friends all jumping. This picture of us is awesome! Check out Megan's blog to see a bigger image :) I don't know how all the boys jump so high.

And the title of this post?? Welp, my husband managed to get ahold of a tambourine after an open bar and decided to have a Dance Off with some of the other groomsmen in tuxes. This dance looked less like Dancing with the Stars and more like Stifler at the Gentlemen's Club in American Pie 3 (a very underrated movie!)

Again, Megan the photographer was amazing and able to capture this...

No words. Except CONGRATS TO L&H! Have a fantastical time in St. Lucia!

Sneak Peek! Tiffany introduces exquisite Yellow Diamond Jewelry

Julie, we'd love for you to come in and get a first hand look at our Rare Yellow Diamonds Collection that is not hitting the stores until October of this year. xoxo, Tiffany & Co.It was 9am on a random workday and I pretty much almost jumped out of my chair. I asked my friends Abby & Caroline to come play dress up with gorgeous jewels the following Thursday after work at the Copley Place Tiffany & Co.

We were met by Carrie & Kevin, and taken to a private viewing area where we could check out the glamorous goods.

First up were 3 different Tiffany Bezet cushion-shaped pendant rings.

I was so jealous of Abby & Caroline and their dainty size 6 fingers!

My ring finger is a size 8, and had to play 'Fat Guy in a Little Coat' with some of the rings!

I absolutely loved the setting on this ring!! The white pave diamonds in platinum were stunning.

Its hard to choose what my favorite piece was. The 2 keys did look magnificent on each one of us! Yep, I giggled when I realized how much $$$ I had around my neck.

Only about one in 10,000 diamonds is a fancy color and very few meet Tiffany's standards. And only about one of 10,000 T&Co diamonds meet JQ Lounge's standards. Hahahaha, Just kidding. I'd pretty much treat an empty Blue Tiffany Box as a present. Which, by the way, they now make as a charm!

I loved this picture of Caroline. So ladylike.
These 18 Karat Gold elegantly contoured rings grow more luxurious with every ring! Plus I realized Yellow Diamonds make your skin automatically appear more tan..

Abby hanging out like it ain't no thing with all that bling ;)
Only the best for hydration during jewelry gazing.
Three dazzling necklaces? Three of us? Parting gift? No?

Welp, the Savings Account for T&CO has been arranged. They will be mine. Someday, they will be mine. And if they really will be yours? Contact your Tiffany Representative.

And of course we had to swing by the Tiffany Engagement Rings! Abby tried out this nice little 6 Karat Lucida Diamond!

Thank you so much to the Copley Place Tiffany & Co for letting us see your beautiful diamonds! I would definitely encourage you to stop by this location, because every single person we talked to there was charming and took great pride in sharing their wealth of knowledge in Tiffany jewelry.
