A Closer Look

Are you a Cosmoholic? YEP. Here's a great read about people buying makeup for maybe more wrong reasons than right. Yes, I read it carefully and have checked myself into Sephora Rehab.
*and yes, I still have 3 huge boxes filled with great products that I will most likely never touch again.

Okay, I'll admit it took me a good 30 seconds of staring at this picture above to realize where the unfortunate product placement was. But when I did... all hell broke lose with the giggles.

Speaking of Giggles. It took me way too long to start watching Tosh.0. Me and the hubby have finally caught up on most of them, and let me tell you.... its the greatest comedy show to hit Comedy Central since Chappelle Show. Daniel Tosh is a deliciously sarcastically funny host. New episodes are every Wednesday at 10pm on Comedy Central.

Amanda Bynes has unretired. Poo. Well... unless she's coming back to do "What I Like About You" with Jennie Garth. Because I admittedly watched that show.

Sunday nights are already stressing out my DVR. Mad Men is back, True Blood is rocking this season, and all of a sudden-- TBS' My Boys shows up at 10pm on Sundays. AAHHHHHHH! I know, tough problems.

Obsessing over Naughty Betty. These brutally honest sayings are showcased on T-Shirts, Paper Goods, Magnets, Greeting Cards, etc. They even have a fun Bridal section- where each Bridesmaid has a shirt meant for her too! I wish I'd thought of all this!!

Pining for all the new shows to come back in September! They've just announced the start dates for all my favorite shows later on that month... but in the meantime, its nice to know that Big Brother, True Blood, Mad Men, Bethenny Getting Married, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, Top Chef, My Life on the D-List are there to hold me until September comes. Oh, and can we talk about how I like a Real World cast for the first time in about 6 years? New Orleans cast is like they finally went back to the old school types of people they'd cast.

Surprised that I enjoyed She's Out of Your League. We'd put it off from renting on Apple TV for quite some time because the cast just didn't jump out at me. Finally we watched it this past weekend, and it was actually funny! Granted, I still kept on replacing the cast with what I felt it should include (Seth Rogen & Jonah Hill I usually cast in everything in my head). Definitely a fun rental.

Planning a Baby Shower for one of our best friends, Gennylite, who's expecting her first baby next month!! L-lo and I may or may not have got lost in the baby section of Target, trying to figure out what most of the stuff was, but we've got lots of fun games & things planned and I'll make sure to take lots of pictures this weekend!

Embarrassed that I watched about 5 hours straight of The Hills marathon this past Sunday. Just when I thought I could go on with my life without it, it came back for one final moment. Just in time for it to REALLY be over with. Now we wait for Allie Lutz to get her spin-off. But everytime I see the beauty that is Brodie Jenner, I can't get over the fact that he dates Avril. She's always reminded me of a bratty rhodent. And him? A beautiful work of 5 o'clock shadow.

Drooling over all the treats at Harvard Sweet Boutique! I found their site through a giveaway over at Travel Eat Love's blog.. such cute stuff! Click here to enter the giveaway as well :)

Four Weddings and a Winner

This weekend when I was engineering my DVR so that we could watch the Bruins lose while taping The Soup, I came across the most amazing show to hit television since To Catch a Predator... and Jersey Shore. I found it because I had a taping of TLC's Say Yes to the Dress that I had to push back and TLC's Four Weddings happened to be on after. Dvr'ing that was fate.

For those of you who love 'Whose Wedding is it anyway?' you need to check out this show. Its about 4 brides who attend each other's wedding and judge them based on a points system, broken down to Venue, Food, Fun & Fashion. None of these ladies know each other, and all of the weddings are completely different from each other. At the end of the episode, all the women wait for a limo to pull up, and whomever's groom steps out of the limo, wins a vacation to a fun fab resort aka honeymoon!

Now while I have a ton of problems with this show, it makes for the most amusing hour. Like, who wants three random bitches judging you on your big day? And plus, the cameras are also on THEM when you are walking down the aisle. Oh honey child.. helllllllllls no would that ever happened at the JQ & Toughguy nuptials.

Girls who are already hitched will love it just as much as the lucky ladies who will get to plan their big day in the future! Its catty, its funny, its pretty, its awkward and its WEDDINGS.

Oh, you're still reading? What.. did you think I was going to announce a winner or something? Ah, thank you for reminding me! I wish I could give everyone all of their dream Stella & Dot pieces. You all reassured me that you have gorgeous taste in accessories.

Thanks to the fine robotics at random.org, the winner is: HOPE! Btw, her favorite Stella & Dot piece in Jaclyn's shop was the Kelly necklace in Ivory Pearl. Tres cute! Thanks for everyone who entered and thanks to Jaclyn for the fun giveaway! Local ladies, I'll let you know when Jaclyn brings her trunk show to town.

One more thing, for anyone who'd like me to email their husband, boyfriend, brother, etc your Stella & Dot choice, I'd be happy to do so :) :)

I Need to get a Hobby (and the winner is)

Thank you all for your great comments about NY Housewives! They were awesome and hilarious. I honestly do not like any of the ladies this season. I usually am Team Jill, but ever since Ramona talked about Jill liking the 'underdog' last season I think its pretty apparent she's correct. But Bethenny is a complete psycho path. My friend worked on the Martha Stewart Apprentice Show a few years back, when she was a contestant, and he said she was not pleasant WHATSOEVER. Nish nish, ladies!

I need to get a hobby. And I did. Now I blog. (so many great lines from this season though!)

Oh, and the winner is MJ! (via random.org) And fyi, she is not a fan of Bethenny from the first 3 episodes of this season. Email me your address and you will get your fab gift card shortly!

And don't forget- keep entering the Macys Daily Fashion Challenge to win $500 and figure out some cute styles for your spring wardrobe. Thanks Macys! xoxo

  • Crossing my fingers to win Susan at Transient Travel's fabulous Sex & The City NYC Tour giveaway. Click here to go enter! And bring me along if you win. We can go to a taping of the Wendy Williams Show after. And of course we'd be camping out at Rockefeller Plaza for 4 hours early next morning for the Today Show. This needs to happen now!
  • trying to choose which fancy pants Restaurant to try out for Boston's Restaurant Week! Anyone have any suggestions?
  • Speaking of Wendy Williams, you MUST dvr her talk show. It is such a treat, and she is the freshest new thing to hit my television since Snookie. I could listen to Wendy talk about Hot Topics and discussing with her audience random sometimes funny personal questions in Ask Wendy. You will LOVE IT!
  • watching Season 1 of Breaking Bad on AMC. Yes, the same awesome people that brought us Mad Men. (one second time out to think about Don Draper) These days it feels like there are no new shows to get into-- but this show has somehow slipped by us the last couple years. If you are in the market for a new DVD series to get absolutely hooked on. There ya go.
  • Excited for Jessica Simpson's new show: The Price of Beauty. It debuts on Vh1 tonite at 10pm! I know for those of you who've been long time readers, I have a Love/Hate relationship with Ms. Daisy Dukes. But in the end, I heart her and kinda obsess over many of the things she does. There, I said it....

Wow, 3 days of pouring rain in Boston, and you wonder why I blog about television so much :)

JQ Lounge 2010 Oscar Recap

Its our favorite time of the year at the JQ Lounge: the 2010 Oscars! This year's event had the usual suspects in attendance: me, hubs, my brother Matt and his lovely girlfriend Andrea. Oscars and Chinese Food is a great little tradition of ours + some witty banter in between through live tweets.

A Simple Man-gria were the drinks of choice :)

Guest Judges, Andrea & Broseph (and Lexie sneaking in an appearance)

Hubs: Is that the girl from Wedding Crashers?

Bro: No, that's Borat's wife. This girl is from Up in the Air.

Andrea: I love how Ryan Seacrest had to wait til Anna Kendrick walked away to tell M'onique that she was a lock for the Oscars

Bro (as told by Lexie): Rain on the Oscars? More Natural Disasters of 2010! Thank God George Clooney is already here to put together a telethon

Bro: I went to sleep last night with the mental picture of Kathy Griffin making out with Mariska b/c I had just watched Law & Order. Not cool.

FYI, from now on I'm going to call her Sandy, just like Ryan Reynolds.

If you don't have time to live your life now, when do you? (at the Oscars) -fortune cookie

Hubs: What was the last movie he was in, Ferris Bueller?

Shiloh Jolie is so big now!!

My pix of the evening? J Lo.

Elizabeth Banks (but she was favored because she guest starred on Modern Family in my eyes)

Demi Moore. I dont know why she was there, but she looked even younger than the last time I saw her on the Red Carpet.

And a shout out to Matt Damon. Alway representing Boston and looking bootyliscious. His wife is so pretty and seems like the nicest women ever.

Click here for the rest of my Red Carpet tweets (there were quite a few)

Countdown to the next Oscars begins now!
